Nicole Mary Kidman was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, on June 20, 1967, when her Australian parents were studying in the United States.  Janelle Ann (née Glenny), her mother, was a nursing educator who edited her husband’s books and was a member of the Women’s Electoral Lobby; Antony Kidman, her father, was a scientist, and clinical psychologist, and novelist.
