What Brought Them Together:

Ashley’s sister introduced Ashley and Kurt Busch. Despite coming from different worlds and sports, the two discovered they had a lot in common. Kurt proposed with a Tiffany & Co. ring after they had been dating for ten months. He had spotted the ring a few months after they started dating and stated he felt it was meant for her.

Kurt spent the holidays with Ashley and her family, and something in his heart grew stronger. In June 2015, Kurt asked Ashley’s father for her hand in marriage. Ashley’s family home in Virginia hosted their engagement party, which included rose petals, candles, champagne, and beef stroganoff (Ashley’s favorite food). Kurt got down on one knee and proposed to his beloved.

The pair took a vacation to Greece to celebrate their engagement. The pair married on Eden Rock, St. Barths Island, on January 7, 2017. Only 40 close friends and family members attended the event. The ceremony was done by Ashley’s 90-year-old great uncle. Kurt married her parents and grandparents, so the event was very special.

They had a lovely evening after exchanging vows with a scrumptious sit-down meal and the cutting of their spectacular 6ft tall wedding cake. This cake was spectacular, but it paled in comparison to Steven Tyler of Aerosmith’s surprise appearance. Kurt’s spectacular Daytona 500 triumph in February 2019 followed the newlyweds’ vacation at home after their festivities.

The Reason Behind Their Split:

Kurt Busch’s wife, Ashley, filed for divorce on Tuesday, according to TMZ.
Ashley and Kurt’s marriage was “irretrievably ruined,” according to court records obtained by TMZ. She also claimed Kurt had performed “tortious conduct.” “I am heartbroken to confirm that my wife Ashley and I are attempting to break our marriage,” Busch stated in response to press inquiries. “I hope our privacy will be respected because divorce is a personal and private affair.” Kurt first met Ashley in 2015.

They were married a year later. Ashley alleges Kurt took away her access to their joint bank accounts and credit cards last month, according to court records. That’s when things went “sideways” in their relationship. Kurt’s racing career began this past Sunday at Kansas Speedway, where he won his first race of the year.
