Before Morris, Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh was sold for Rs 16 crore who was the most expensive player in IPL history. Chris Morris had a starting price of Rs 75 lakh and was sold for Rs16.25 Crore. He has played in 70 IPL matches, scoring 551 runs at a strike rate of 157.87. In bowling, he has registered 80 wickets at a strike rate of above 7.81 runs per over.

In batting, he hasn’t opened his account in the T20I cricket match yet. He is expected to be a crucial bowler for the RCB team.
3. Glenn Maxwell
Royal Challengers Bangalore (Rs 14.25 crore): Despite his poor performance for Punjab in 2020, Maxwell was always going to be one of the top players in the market in the 2021 auction. Glenn Maxwell was brought by RCB for Rs 14.25 crore, the Australian all-rounder comes with lots of experience of having played in the IPL.
Despite a poor 2020 season with Punjab Kings, he went for a higher price and will be expected to deliver for Virat Kohli’s team. Maxwell is considered one of the most destructive T20 batsmen in the world when he is on the form. Last season, he managed to score 108 runs in 13 matches in the United Arab Emirates and he could only take three wickets.
4. Jhye Richardson
Punjab Kings (Rs 14 crore): Jhye Richardson would make his IPL debut and has been bought by Punjab Kings for Rs 14 crore at the IPL auction. This 24-year-old Australian pacer is a famous player in the League, and he could play a vital role for Punjab Kings. He has played in 62 T20 matches and has registered 78 wickets. Jhye Richardson is coming off a BBL campaign in which he took 29 wickets overall.
5. Krishnappa Gowtham
Chennai Super Kings (Rs 9.25 crore): After a disappointing performance in the 2020 season, Chennai Super Kings have roped in Krishnappa Gowtham for Rs 9.25 crore. He played only in two matches for Punjab Kings last year and scored 40 runs.
The all-rounder Krishnappa Gowtham will be expected to play the big hits in the lower middle order and also contribute to bowling. He played only two games last year for Kings XI, but will surely play a much bigger role for the Super Kings this time round.
6. Riley Meredith
Punjab Kings (Rs 8 Crore): One of the biggest surprises of the 2021 auction was the bidding war that took place for young Australian pacer Meredith. Entering the auction at a base price of just 40 lakh, Meredith was eventually
sold to the Punjab Kings for a massive ₹8 crore ($1.1m), making him the IPL Most Expensive Player 2021.

7. Moeen Ali
Chennai Super Kings(Rs 7 Crore): England all-rounder Ali endured a difficult 2020 tournament with the Royal Challengers Bangalore, playing just three matches before being released.

Moeen Ali’s right-arm-off spin and ability to find the rope from the lower-middle order will be important for Chennai as they look to bounce back from the disappointment of the 2020 performance.
8. Tom Curran
Delhi Capitals(Rs 5.25 Crore): Curran spent last season with the Rajasthan Royals, where he had to make do with just five appearances due to the presence of several big overseas names.
It was very surprising to see a bidding war take place for the England international’s services, then, with the Delhi Capitals eventually coming out on top with a ₹5.25 crore ($722,000) bid for the player.
Delhi will be confident that Curran’s wicket-taking ability at the death and his useful runs from the lower order can help them go one better after losing in the 2020 final match.
