Josh Duggar, Amy Duggar King’s cousin, was given a 151-month prison term, or more than 12 years, for child pornography. Amy Duggar King is exhaling in relief. The former member of the 19 Kids and Counting family shared her opinions on the issue and was open with her followers about how she was feeling when the case was being heard on Instagram.
In a video that she said was intentionally unfiltered, Amy stated, “I can breathe. She said, “I knew he getting the maximum sentence wasn’t going to be the easiest to prove since it’s his first offence in the judge’s eyes — which I hate — but at the same time, he cannot have his computer, he cannot hurt [and] exploit any more children, and when he sees his kids, he has to be supervised.”
With his wife Anna, Josh has seven kids: 12-year-old Mackynzie, Michael, 10-, Marcus, 8-, Meredith, 6-, Mason, 4-, Maryella, 2-, and 7-month-old Madyson.
In December 2021, Josh was first determined to have been guilty of receiving and possessing child pornography, a federal offence. After Little Rock, Arkansas police tracked down child porn files being shared by a computer belonging to the former TLC star, he was then detained in April 2021.
In an interview she gave to The Sun on Wednesday, the day before Josh was sentenced, Amy expressed her desire for the judge to impose the harshest possible punishment. It is vital for Josh to finally make amends for the heinous acts he perpetrated, she said, adding that this does not in any way represent justice for his victims and the innocence that was stolen from them.
Josh had previously faced allegations of having sexual contact with minors. His sisters, as well as fellow 19 Kids and Counting actors Jill, Jessa, Jinger, and Joy-Anna Duggar, were all accused of sexually abusing five minors when he was a teenager.
Due to the allegations, TLC cancelled the reality series in 2015.
According to Amy’s Instagram video, Josh’s illness has a history, and at some point, the trauma will come to light. I have no idea when, how, or from whom, but I believe more will eventually surface. My heart does, however, feel a little lighter knowing that, hopefully, tonight, I can finally fall asleep and rest confident that another monster will be locked up.

The maximum term Josh could receive for the offence was 20 years, and his trial lasted six days. Josh is accused of downloading photographs of sexual assault of children under the age of 12 from files on his work computer at a used car dealership, according to court records previously obtained by ET.
Josh’s father, Jim Bob Duggar, his wife, Anna Duggar, his brother Jason Duggar, and his sister Joy-Anna Duggar were all present in court for his punishment as well as other family members.
Amy said that although she thinks the over 12-year sentence may not be harsh enough, the case against her cousin is “far from over” and “where he’s going… the prisoners are going to take care of him.”
U.S. District Judge Timothy Brooks rejected Josh’s plea for an acquittal or a new trial, despite the fact that Josh’s attorneys had defended their client’s innocence and provided documentation of appeal plans.
